Live Telecast of Lok Sabha stopped New Delhi: The Telangana tussle has claimed one more victim. The people have lost the right to know and watch what is happening inside the Lok Sabha during the debate on Telangana Bill. The Lok Sabha TV has stopped the live coverage of the House on the orders of the Speaker Meira Kumar.
After 'pepper spray' incident of last Thursday, the Lok Sabha met on Tuesday morning to debate the Telangana Bill. The house was adjourned twice in the morning after the anti-Telangana MPs disrupted the house.
When the Lok Sabha met at 3 PM to take up Telangana debate, the live coverage of the Lok Sabha proceedings was stopped. It has shocked the people and they are worried about government's commitment to democratic norms.
The amendments to the Bill were put to vote in a hush hush manner and the Lok Sabha denied the people's right to know what was happening.
As the critics say it is a cynical political move and the Telangana mess is Congress's own creation.
