GHMC Mayor reviews comprehensive road development plan Hyderabad, Sept 5 (INN): GHMC Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain held a review meeting on Comprehensive Road Development Plan along with the senior officials of the GHMC's Engineering wing here on Friday.
The Mayor instructed the Engineering-in-Chief and Chief Engineer to call for tenders for 34 road works costing below Rs 5 crore and complete the process in a month. The total cost of the works is around Rs. 81.67 crore.
He said proposals worth Rs 150 crore pertaining to conventional and CC Vide-Toping have been placed before the State Government for approval.
These works will be taken up after completing the tender process on priority basis after receiving the government order. He also said that the BT road works worth Rs. 60.05 crores will taken up after receiving the government's nod.
Majid Hussain further said that road works worth Rs. 292 crores under Comprehensive Road Development Plan has to be expedited and completed on priority basis.
The Mayor also instructed the officials to finalise 50 food centres and place the same for approval in the next meeting of Standing Committee to be held next week.
He also enquired about the RO Plants and instructed the officials to take up the tender process in 10-15 days time so that it could be installed on priority for the convenience of the citizens to have safe drinking water in almost all the 150 divisions.
He also had discussions with regard to food scheme of Rs. 5/- which will be soon started in all the 50 centres. This would benefit nearly 17,000 people.
