BJP questions KCR's silence on Hyd Liberation Day Hyderabad, Sept 7 (INN): Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy on Sunday questioned the silence of Telangana Chief Minister over the official celebration of Hyderabad Liberation Day on September 17.
Speaking to media persons at the State BJP office here, Kishan Reddy claimed that last year KCR had promised to celebrate the Liberation Day at a grand scale after the formation of Telangana State.
However, KCR has been maintaining silence on the issue despite repeated appeals by the BJP and other groups demanding official celebration of the occasion. He asked whether TRS was running the government independently or is working under the pressure of Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen.
Kishan Reddy said that former Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and Kiran Kumar Reddy did not celebrate the Liberation Day during their regimes. He demanded that the State Government celebrate the event officially and declared a public holiday on September 17.
