IMG Bharata land case still in High Court HYDERABAD: The state government has entrusted the case relating to allotment of land in Survey No 25 at Kanche Gachibowli village in Serilingampally of Rangareddy district to IMG Bharata to the Advocate General on behalf of the government.
Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao stated that Andhra Pradesh government in 2004 had handed over most valuable government lands worth hundreds of crores to IMG Bharata Academy for promotion of sports.
In this connection, a GO was issued in 2004 constituting a Group of Ministers to review all decisions taken after January 2, 2003 on the mega projects.
In view of the recommendations, a committee was constituted. The committee recommended that the transaction to be annulled and resume the land.
The government resumed the lands in 2006 but IMG Bharata approached the High Court challenging the ordinance. The court issued status quo on the issue. Now the state government has entrusted the above case to the Advocate General.
