Merge all wings of police department: Kishan Reddy Hyderabad, Nov 29 (INN): BJP MLA G Kishan Reddy has demanded the merger of all wings of police department into one single unit for effective functioning.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour in the State Assembly on Saturday, Kishan Reddy said that the police personnel have been divided into CRFP, Reserve Police, Armed Reserved, Law & Order, etc.,
He said the division was inappropriate and therefore, they could work more effectively if they are merged as one entity. He said the Tamil Nadu model should be adopted to merge all the wings of police forces.
Kishan Reddy also highlighted the problems being faced by police personnel. He also pointed out that Home Guards have no holiday while an ordinary worker of a kiran shop gets paid holiday once in a week.
Besides demanding an increase in the salaries of police personnel, he also demanded increase in the maternity leave period of women working with the police department.
Responding on the issue, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy assured that the State Government would do justice with the police personnel and several reforms were under the active consideration of the government.
