Hi-tech mass copying gang held in RRB exam Hyderabad, Nov 30 (INN): The special operation team of Cyberabad Police busted the gang involved Hi-tech Mass copying in Railway Recruitment cell exam conducted at various centres in Hyderabad and all over the country on Sunday.
The gangs used hi-tech electronic devices for mass copying during the examination at various centres of Hyderabad, Tirupathi and a few other places in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The SOT team raided today at 2.30 pm at Salarjung Water Pump at Upparguda Railway Gate near Moula Ali Railway Quarters in Malkajgiri police limits and apprehended 20 persons and seized electronic devices. The gang members were operating from the water pump.
The main accused, Machender, is a railway employee and he allegedly lured gullible candidates by collecting Rs 5 lakh each by providing electronic devices to them. He formed a team comprising of Iliyas, Varun Giridhar, Venkatesh, Ashok and Srinivas. After getting a copy of RRB question paper through Whatsup, the gang prepared answers and conveyed the same to the candidates through specially designed electronic devices.
The candidates who wrote exams with the help of electronic devices provided by Machender were arrested from Dilsukhnagr Public School at Chaitanayapuri; Sri Chaithanaya Jr.Kalasala in Archnana Complex; Gowhtam Model school, Tirumalgherry; D.A.V Public School, Neredemet; Samaritans High School, Neredemet; Govinda Raja Swamy Arts College, Tirupathi; Sri Padmavathi Women's Degree & P.G College, Tirupathi; t.Rita High School, Miyapur; Ravindra Barathi Public School and Gowtham Degree College of Vijayawada. There were also some others Centres in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Immediately after the raid, three teams were rushed to different school in Hyderabad where three candidates were arrested at Dilsukhnagar Public school , two candidates from Sri Chaitanya Jr.Kalasala in Chaiathanaypuri and five candidates from Gowtham Model School at Tirumalgherry. Electronic devices consisting of Sim cards and ear-pin like Bluetooth were seized from their possession.
The SOT team arrested a total of 30 persons, including 10 candidates, and seized electronic devices with eight in-built Sim cards, two laptops, one printer, nine ear-pins like bluetooth, five Sim cards, four battery strips, 27 Cellphones 27, three Data Cards, seven Data Cables, three calculators and 17 motorcycles from the possession of the accused persons.
The operation was conducted by SOT team Inspectors V.Umender and B. Pushpan Kumar and Sub-Inspector Anjaneyulu under the supervision of SOT Addl.DCP. E.Ramachandra Reddy and other team members.
The arrested accused persons and seized material was handed over to Malkajgiri Police Station for further investigation. Cyberabad Commissioner CV Anand has appreciated the good work done by SOT team and said they would be rewarded suitably.
