'Ashok Babu swindled housing society funds' HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers Association (HTNGOs) has demanded action against APNGOs president P Ashok Babu and other senior leaders for misappropriating APNGOs Gachibowli House Building Society's funds to the tune of Rs 18 crore.
APNGOs leaders P Ashok Babu, Chandrashekar Reddy and V Gopal Reddy collected funds to the the tune of Rs 34.35 crore from employees on the pretext of giving them plots in Gachibowli House Building Society and misappropriated to the tune of Rs 18 crore.
They should be immediately arrested and the misappropriated money be recovered for them, HTNGOs president M Satyanarayana Goud said at a press conference here on Sunday.
There are about 1,680 members in Hyderabad Telangana NGOs which is part of APNGOs. Like all other employee organisations even APNGOs should be divided and Hyderabad Telangana NGOs should be given their due share in the APNGOs building at Gunfoundry in the Abids area of the city, Goud demanded.
HTNGOs held a relay hunger strike for 12 days this month demanding their share in APNGOs building at Gunfoundry but called it off on the assurance of several APNGO leaders such as Sagar that their demands would be considered favourably. APNGOs had even formed a five-member committee to discuss issues with HTNGOs.
'If the APNGOs committee does not invite us to talks in the next two days, we will step up our agitation against APNGOs,' warned HTNGOs secretary P Balaraj.
'While AP and Telangana employees are maintaining good relationship with each other and carrying on their duties, Ashok Babu is unnecessarily trying to spread hatred between them saying that AP employees are feeling insecure in Hyderabad,' he alleged.
HTNGOs associate president S Prabhakar Reddy, treasurer K Sridhar, joint secretaries G Padma Reddy and Keshav Naik were also present at the press conference.
