Police launch special drive to clear 7,444 PVRs Hyderabad, Dec 3 (INN): The Passport Verification Cell (Automated), Special Branch, of Hyderabad City Police on Wednesday launched a special drive to dispose off as many as 7,444 applications for Police Verification Reports (PVRs) by December 12.
Besides existing 99 Field Officers, as many as 51 more officers have been deployed to achieve the task. Special training has been imparted to the Special Branch staff with regard to the Field Verification Process and till date, as many as 150 personnel were already trained and the training programme is still underway to cover up the residue part of 50 staff members in the next few days.
It may be mentioned that the Special Branch had issued as many as 114,513 PVRs in 2012 and 112,153 PVRs and not a single application was kept pending. In the year 2014, up to December 2, of 101,208 applications, only 93,764 have been cleared and the SB proposes to clear pending 7,444 cases by December 12.
All the applicants who received the pre-verification SMS alerts from P.V.Cell informing the names of the Enquiry Officers to be contacted, have been asked to ignore the same and cooperate with the newly nominated Field Officers who will contact the applicants afresh.
The City Police has assured all the applicants that the verifications would be done within the stipulated time and post verification alert messages would be flashed after completion of verification and uploading of PVRs online so as to keep them updated enabling to pursue follow-up action from their end at RPO Office Secunderabad.
The Hyderabad City Police has appealed to all the applicants / citizens to avoid offering tips to the Field Officers during verification and if there is any such demand from the E.O, the same may be intimated immediately to the mobile numbers 9490616690, 9490616564.
