Land acquisition for Metro in a month Hyderabad, Dec 3 (INN): GHMC Speial Officer Somesh Kumar on Wednesday informed that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation would complete the process of acquisition of land for Metro Rail project within one month after the announcement of norms by the State Government.
Speaking to media persons here, Somesh Kumar, who will be assuming charge as GHMC Special Officer on Thursday, said that the GHMC was ready with all the details and it would hand over the acquired land to the Metro Rail authorities.
He also informed that the GHMC was effectively monitoring the receipts through Entertainment Tax from Cinema Halls. He said that the corporation will earn about Rs 220 crore if all cinema halls are filled to the capacity.
He said the sale of cinema tickets is thoroughly monitored and the GHMC gets complete information within 30 minutes after a movie begins. Since a majority of cinema tickets are being booked online, it has become easier for the GHMC to track them.
Somesh Kumar informed that consultants were being hired for the modernisation of Monda Market in Secunderabad. He said 12 other markets have been identified for modernisation. He also informed that the GHMC would plans to provide 1,000 tri-cycles to physically handicapped persons at a cost of Rs 65,000 each through bank-linkage.
