Use low beam while driving at night: Traffic Police Hyderabad, Dec 6 (INN): The Hyderabad City Traffic Police on Saturday advised the drivers/riders to use low beam while driving on city roads during night.
The high beam is causing lot of inconvenient to the drivers of two and four wheelers, high beam focus on the rider/drivers eyes directly which cases temporarily loss of eye sight by which drivers lost their control over the vehicle and causes accidents.
Due to high beam pedestrian cannot judge the speed of the vehicle and the distance of the vehicle while crossing the road due to direct focus of lights, the traffic police said.
According to Additional CP (Traffic), regular drivers are facing problems of eye sights due to high beam lights effect. Even the driver of a vehicle who is nearby a pedestrian crossing can't notice the pedestrians crossing due to high beam lights of the vehicles coming from the opposite lane of the road focusing him; which may cause accidents to the pedestrians crossing during night time. High beam lights also cause inconvenience to the driver due to which they are not able to access the rear and side mirror views properly.
As many as 981 pedestrians were killed in 2012 in accidents that mostly took place during night. Similarly 925 were killed in 2013 and this year, up to October 31, as many as 811 pedestrians died in road accidents.
Therefore, the Hyderabad City Traffic police has advise all the commuters to use the low beam lights and use half shades on head lights of all types of vehicles, which is safe for all the road users.
