TS Govt aims to double IT exports Hyderabad, Dec 7 (INN): The Telangana Government is hoping to double its software exports by encouraging the IT companies through a new policy and other incentives.
As against the software exports of nearly Rs 57,000 crore during 2013-14, the Telangana Government wants them to cross or touch Rs 1.20 lakh crore during 2014-15.
Similarly, the State Government wants to create nearly 20 lakh direct and indirect jobs through IT sectors. Presently, the IT sector has provided direct employment to 323,691 people.
Speaking to media persons here on Sunday, Information Technology Minister K Tarakarama Rao said that these targets would be achieved through the new IT policy which will be announced in the third week of December.
He said that the new policy, which would offer several sops for the industry, would turn Hyderabad into the most attractive IT destination in the country. He said that the government would facilitate single-window clearances of all proposals and provide required infrastructure without any glitches.
The minister said that the new IT policy would link technical education with the industry to ensure that the students get recruitment immediately after the completion of their education.
