Vocalist Nedanuri Krishnamurthy passes away Tirupati: Renowned Carnatic music maestro and TTD Asthana Vidwan Nedanuri Krishnamurthy passed away during the wee hours of Monday in Visakhapatnam. TTD Specified Authority board members expressed their condolences to the bereaved family of the music maestro.

Meanwhile Krishnamurthy was born on October 10, 1927, in Kothapalli in Peethapuram of East Godavari district to Rama Murthy Panthulu and Vijayalakshmi. In 1949, he was influenced by carnatic vocalist, Sripada Pinakapani, and under his guidance developed his style of music.
His foremost contribution was the setting to tune of 108 compositions of Annamacharya, which became popular among the devotees. He served as the fourth Principal of SV College of Music and Dance of TTD from 1973 to 1976. He was conferred with many titles including Nada yogi, Sangeetha Kalanidhi, Sangeetha Choodamani etc.
The officials of TTD Annamacharya Project and SV Music and Dance college organised a condolence meeting in their office premises on Monday and observed two minutes silence. Later they remembered the great contributions made by Nedanuri in the field of carnatic music.
