Land pooling in AP to kick off from today HYDERABAD: Even though several of the farmers are not ready to part with their land, the Andhra Pradesh government said it would begin the land pooling process in the 29 villages that were identified for construction of the new capital city from Tuesday.
Claiming that a majority of the farmers in these villages have come forward to surrender their land, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced a category-specific compensatory package to owners who will surrender their land for the capital, proposed near Vijayawada/Guntur.
As per the new package, the government divided agricultural lands into two categories. One is dry lands and another is wet lands.
For the farmers of dry lands, the government will give 1,000 square yards of residential and 200 sq yards of commercial plots per acre besides giving ` 30,000 with an increment of `3,000 each year for ten years.
For the wet lands, it will give 1,000 sq yards of residential and 300 sq yards of commercial plots per acre besides giving ` 50,000 with a hike of ` 5,000 each year for ten years.
Meanwhile, taking forward his ambitious plan to build a world class greenfeild capital, Naidu announced that a Master Plan for the capital city would be ready within six months.
