TS Govt slammed for its unpreparedness to all party meet Hyderabad, Dec 9 (INN): The major opposition parties slammed the Telangana Government for inviting them for discussions on issues concerning Hyderabad without doing proper homework.
The government faced severe criticism for not furnishing information related to encroachment on government lands in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts.
The major parties including Congress, TDP, MIM and BJP said they could not take a stand on regularisation of encroachment lands without having a look at the data.
Therefore, it was agreed upon to continue the All Party meeting again on December 16 to discuss the issue. Meanwhile, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao directed the officials concerned to furnish information related to the status of government lands in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy district.
Speaking to media persons later, Congress leaders Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and KR Suresh Reddy said that their party was in favour of removal of all illegal encroachments.
However, the Congress would support any move to regulise the poor people who are staying on the government land. MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi said that the MIM had proposed that poor people in possession of 80-120 sq yards of land should be regularised.
In other cases, he said NOC from the Wakf Board or Endowments Department should be made compulsory for regularisation. Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy said that his party would take a stand on the issue only after the receipt of complete information.
The Left parties expressed fears that the proposed Land Encroachment Act might encourage corruption and demanded that steps be taken to protect and recover the unused government land.
All opposition parties demanded that the government come up with more clarity on the issue.
