RTA launches drive against illegal cab operators Hyderabad, Dec 10 (INN): The Transport Department on Wednesday launched a special drive to check the unregistered cabs operating in the Hyderabad and Cyberabad police limits.
A team of RTA officials led by Joint Transport Commissioner of Hyderabad T Raghunath conducted checks at Jubilee Hills Check Post, Shamshabad Aiprot, PV Narasimha Rao Expressway and Nehru ORR.
In the first few hours, the RTA officials have registered 11 cases and seized four cabs. According to Raghunath, since Uber services were illegal in the city as it has not registered with the RTA. Therefore, he requested the people not to engage any web-based cabs.
The RTA authorities are also taking action against the cab operators and drivers who are operating without permission or license.
