21 gets life sentence in sensationl Kapptralla murders case
Kurnool, December 10: The Adoni Sessions Court on Wednesday sentenced 21 persons to life imprisonment in the Kappatralla mass murder case in Kurnool district. On May 17, 2008, 11 persons, including TDP leader Kappatralla Venkatappa Naidu, were hacked to death after their convoy was stopped and attacked. A total of 47 people figured as accused in the case.
A lengthy trial took place for six years in the Adoni Additional Sessions Court. Three of the accused died during the trial, while one person identified as Diwakar Naidu is absconding. Maddileti Naidu figured as the prime accused along with Varam Padma, Diwarkar Naidu, Purushotham Naidu and others.
The court acquitted 25 others along with Kotla Harichakrapani Reddy and Cherukulapadu Narayana Reddy.
