AP CS meets Central officials on State issues Hyderabad, Dec 10 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao, during his visit to Delhi on Wednesday, met National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Chairman RP Singh and Surface Transport Secretary Vijay Chibber to follow up on issues of connectivity to Ports in Andhra Pradesh to the Hinterland of India through a National Highway connecting to Raipur passing through Orissa and Chhattisgarh.
Both have promised to look into the proposal and follow up. He impressed upon them the need for connectivity from different parts of Andhra Pradesh to the New Capital, as promised in the AP Reorganisation Act.
The Chief Secretary met the Secretary Shipping Rajiv Kumar and impressed on him the need to make Vizag Port area as the node in the Sagaramala Project of Government of India on the East Coast. They have favourably responded to the request.
He also discussed with Secretary Shipping on the establishment of Duggarajupatnam Port and formulation of the Maritime Board in the state of Andhra Pradesh. He also met Defence Secretary R.K.Mathur and thanked him for ready response both at the time of Himachal Pradesh tragedy, HUDHUD Cyclone and Gudalok forest fire near Vishakhapatnam.
Krishna Rao met Shaktikanta Das, Secretary Finance (Revenue) and reviewed with him the progress on Industrial Incentives, Special Category Status and Special Package. He also met the Secretary, Industrial Policy Amitab Kanth and discussed with him the ADB project on Vizag ' Chennai Industrial Corridor and Development of Industrial Estates as part of this programme and also development of Vizag as Smart City.
He attended the meeting convened by Addl. Principal Secretary to Prime Minster P.K.Mishra on AIS Cadre division.
