Crop loan waiver's helpline fall dead Hyderabad, Dec 13 (INN): Within few hours after its launch, the toll-free helpline number to assist farmers to get information and register their grievances on crop loan waiver scheme fell dead.
However, Agriculture Minister P Pullarao clarified that the toll-free helpline number, which was launched on experimental basis on single line, fell dead due to receipt of too many calls. However, he said immediate measures were taken to start multiple toll-free help lines.
Later, the Mee Seva department issued a circular giving more numbers. The farmers can now call on the following toll-free numbers to get support and crop loan waiver scheme or register their grievances: 1100 (for Land Line Phone Users); 1800 425 4440 and 1800 103 2066.
