Naidu plans to shift offices to Vijayawada HYDERABAD: Hinting that he is very keen to shift the administration to the new capital, Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday informed party MLAs that a few offices would be shifted to Vijayawada by April.
'Since Hyderabad is the common capital of AP and Telangana for ten years, we would like to work from here. Hyderabad would be political capital and Vijayawada administrative capital,' Naidu reportedly told party MLAs.
Naidu made this announcement during the TDLP meeting held at the Assembly conference hall here. He reportedly told MLAs that he was planning to shift a few important offices to Vijayawada by April for better administration.
'Since we are here in Hyderabad for the next ten years, we would run our political administration from here,' he reportedly told the MLAs.
According to sources, Naidu's move is an indication that he will continue to stay in Hyderabad and run the administration from the new capital. This way, he would have control over the party in both the states.
In an effort to have better coordination with party MLAs, the TDP chief has decided to meet them every Saturday after January 1.
According to sources, Naidu expressed displeasure over MLAs intervening in the matters related to transfers of officials. 'Party MLAs involving in officials' transfers was not a good practice as it would send wrong message to the people and even damage party's image,' he reportedly told them.
Naidu was also not happy with the response he was getting in regard to the pension schemes announced by his government. 'YS Rajasekhara Reddy by just increasing pension amount from Rs 5 to Rs 200 got large-scale publicity. We have increased it to Rs 1,000 but still we are not getting credit for it,' he said.
