Assembly: Minister calls Jagan thief
Hyderabad, December 19: Andhra Pradesh Assembly session witnessed heated arguments on the second day and a verbal war followed between TDP ministers and opposition YSRCP. Minister Acchem Naidu today made some controversial remarks against opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Speaking on Hudhud cylcone relief activities taken up by TDP Govt, YS Jagan pointed out that food packets were distributed in areas where there are no people and the packets were thrown from vehicles tops. He puts blame on Chandrababu's administrative skills while handling the ordeal.
Responding to Jagan comments Achem Naidu gave strong reply and called Jagan as thief in Assembly. He said that there are no words to criticize opposition leader.
'There are no words to criticize Jagan. When the whole country is praising chief minister Chandrababu for his all out efforts to minismise the loss of life due to Hudhud cyclone, only Jagan and his party is criticizing Chandrababu'said Naidu.
Adding more he went on saying, 'How could a thief be there in the Assembly? He had been to court before coming to assembly even today in his disproportionate assets case. In my 30 years of political career I feel ashamed to be in this house along with a thief like Jagan'.
The comments of Naidu created uproar in the house and opposition party members rose on their feet and rushed to the Speaker's podium demanding an apology from the minister Atchannaidu.
They demanded the deputy speaker that Atchennaidu's words be expunged from the records. At one stage, there was a minor fist cuff between the YSRCP and TDP leaders. However, senior leaders intervened and pacified them. Amid the ruckus, the house was adjourned for 10 minutes.
