Remarks on Roja leads to uproar in Assembly Hyderabad, December 22: Andhra Pradesh Assembly saw actress-turned-politico and YSRC MLA Roja burst into tears when the TDP senior member Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary allegedly made an objectionable comment on her during a discussion on crop loan waiver scheme in the House. This led to a heated argument between the TDP and the YSRC members, forcing the Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao to adjourn the House.
It all began when YSRC members were demanding that the Speaker allow their member Y Visveswara Reddy to speak for some more time over the issue of crop loan waiver.
Butchaiah Chowdary, who stood up to speak on behalf of his party on the same issue, got irritated by this and said film actress Roja, who was loudly arguing with the Speaker had no manners and did not know how to speak and behave in the House.
This led to a heated argument among the MLAs of both TDP and YSRC. Sensing trouble, Speaker Sivaprasada Rao adjourned the House till evening.
Despite House being adjourned, members of both TDP and YSRC started pushing one another with Roja, G Srikanth Reddy and Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy of YSRC taking the lead. However, after some time, members of both the parties calmed down and left the House.
After the adjournment of the House, Roja said TDP MLA Butchaiah Choudary used unparliamentary language against her.
She then described Naidu as Bhasmaasura, saying, 'The CM is trying to cheat people by not keeing any of his promises like Bhasmaasura'. But Choudary refuted the charges of Roja and alleged that the YSRC member had hurled some indecent comments on the treasury benches.
