Chilling winter stalls night tours in city Hyderabad: The recently introduced daily night tour package by the Telangana Tourism showcasing the Hyderabadi heritage has no takers as tourists are not ready to venture out during nights.
Introduced six months ago, the daily night tour package had a great opening with many tourists eager to experience the beauty of the city during night. The tour is specially tailored for tourists who want to experience the night beauty of this historic city.
The tour included visits to historic places like Charminar and Golconda fort, which are a must visit for anyone who comes to Hyderabad as they are the trademarks of the 400 year old Nawabs city.
The daily night tour covers the State Art Gallery, Golconda Fort along with the Sound & Light Show, Charminar, drive through Qutub Shahi Tombs and Lumbini Park along with a boat ride. The buses covering the night tour would depart from Paryataka Bhavan every day at 4'o clock in the evening.
The first place to be visited is Charminar as it is holds great importance in the history of erstwhile Hyderabad state and most of the tourists insist on visiting it first, followed with the rest. The fares are priced for adult Rs 550 and child Rs 440. The above tariff is including entry tickets and Food.
Expressing his views, a senior official from Telangana Tourism says, 'The daily night tour package was enjoyed by the tourists in the initial days. There were many groups who wanted to take this package particularly to enjoy the sound and light show at Golconda fort.'
The official said that during its initial day, about 4 or 5 buses were required to transport the tourists, but at present there were hardly enough tourists to fill 1 or 2 buses.
'This sudden decline in the intake of the night tour package is due to the breezy cold winds and the dip in the temperatures in the night,' the official opined.
The tourists are very happy with the package and with the services as the tourism department has included the entry in the fare, relieving them from the burden of tickets, said the official. 'The Telangana tourism, this year with the night tour package has got about additional 5 lakhs compared to the previous year,' he said.
