AP govt staff gets 43 pc fitment HYDERABAD: Days after his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao had announced pay revision with 43 percent fitment to his government staff, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu too granted a similar 'boon' to his employees.
In what could be seen as an effort to persuade AP Secretariat employees to move to the temporary capital being constructed at Mangalagiri in Guntur district, Naidu seems to have decided to give 43 percent fitment on a par with Telangana employees while implementing the recommendation of the 10th Pay Revision Commission (PRC).
Till now, the AP secretariat staff have been reluctant to move to the temporary capital, stating that they would receive less HRA if they leave Hyderabad, which is a 'A1 City'.
After a lengthy meeting with staff association leaders, the Chief Minister made the announcement at the Secretariat on Monday. Naidu said the hike in salaries would be implemented retrospectively from June 2, 2014, the day on which AP was bifurcated.
The enhanced salary would be paid tentatively from April 1, he said. 'This hike includes the interim relief of 27 pc, which was already given to employees when the State was undivided,' he said.
