T-Cong shortlists candidates for MLC elections
Hyderabad, Feb 14 (INN): The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee has started shortlisting candidates for the two Graduates' constituencies of Telangana Legislative Council which are going to polls on March 16.
In an informal chat with media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, TPCC President Ponnala Lakshmaiah revealed that about six-seven aspirants for Mahaboobnagar-Ranga Reddy-Hyderabad constituency.
They include former minister A Chandrashekar, JAC leader K Venkatswamy, TPCC Chief Spokesperson Dr Sharavan Kumar, TPCC Secretary Subhash Reddy, Advocate Bangarappa and ex-chairman of Mahabubnagar Library Society Arun Kumar Gupta. Senior leader Chintapadu Naveen alias Teenmar Mallanna is one of the aspirant from Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates' constituency.
Ponnala said that the candidates were being shortlisted and the final names would be announced soon.
As per the schedule announced by the ECI, the notification for the elections would be issued on 19th February; the last date of making nominations will be 26th February and they would be scrutinised on 27th February.
The last date for withdrawal of candidature will be 2nd March and polling will be held on 16th March from 8 AM to 4 PM. The counting of votes will take place on 19th March.
