Man, wife held for rape of minor girl
VISAKHAPATNAM: In yet another incident of sexual harassment of minors, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped at Kancharapalem area of the city. The police arrested the accused along with his wife, who reportedly abetted the crime.
According to sources, M Bangaru Raju (46) and his wife M Lakshmi (40), who were running a tiffin centre at Kancharapalem, befriended the minor girl, their neighbour and a Class-VII student.
Sources said that Raju raped the girl around four months ago at his home in the presence of his wife. Raju had been allegedly threatening and abusing the girl since then. Finally, vexed with the harassment, the victim informed her parents, who lodged a complaint with the Fifth Town police station.
