Another PIL filed against shifting of Chest hospital HYDERABAD: Another public interest litigation was filed in the Hyderabad High Court against shifting of TB and Chest hospital at Erragadda to TB Sanitorium at Ananthagiri hills near Vikarabad in Ranga Reddy district.
Petitioners B Maddileti, president of Telangana Praja Front and K Venkataiah, president of Telangana Navanirman Sena, challenged the GO No.61 dated Jan 27, 2015 issued by the state government for shifting the existing chest hospital from Erragadda to Ananthagiri.
Though it is an heritage building, the government has decided to shift the hospital to a rural area in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district in order to construct a new Secretariat building complex in the premises of the above hospital by spending huge public money, they pointed out.
They urged the court to suspend the impugned GO and to direct the government not to construct the Secretariat complex on the premises of the existing chest hospital. These PIL matters are expected to come up for hearing before a division bench on Monday.
