Malindo Air brings Malaysia closer VISAKHAPATNAM: The Visakhapatnam airport has all the infrastructure for operation of flights round-the-clock, and with the proposals from different airlines for operating more flights under the pipeline, the airport would soon commence round-the-clock flight operations,' said Visakhapatnam Parliament member K Haribabu.
He was addressing a gathering at the inauguration of Malindo Air and also launch their new flight between Visakhapatnam and Kuala Lumpur. The flight took off from Visakhapatnam.
Haribabu said that the Visakhapatnam airport had three international services and a cargo terminal would soon come up for the convenience of pharma and seafood exporters. He said the direct flight to Kuala Lumpur would improve the relationship between the two countries besides providing new opportunities to develop tourism.
In addition to the existing four airports at Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Gannavaram and Rajahmundry, two more airports had been proposed at Puttaparthy and Kadapa in the state, Haribabu said.
He appealed to the Malindo Air authorities to extend their inaugural offer of economy rates till the end of summer for the convenience of people from Coastal Andhra. Malindo Air country manager Kavitha Joshi, Visakhapatnam airport director C Pattabhi and Symbiosys chief executive officer O Naresh Kumar were present on the occasion.
