Dattatreya rules out TRS joining Modi cabinet HYDERABAD: A day after political circles went agog with speculation that the Telangana Rashtra Samiti, the ruling party in the state, might join the Modi-led NDA cabinet at the Centre, Union minister of state for labour and employment Bandaru Dattatreya and senior BJP leader has ruled out such a possibility.
The TRS too has rubbished the reports of the changing political equations in the state. The Union minister, along with his family members, worshipped Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy at Vemulawada in Karimnagar district on the occasion of Maha Sivaratri.
Speaking to mediapersons at the BJP office at Vemulawada later, he said, 'TRS joining the Union cabinet is media speculation. The ideologies of BJP and TRS are different.'
Assuring that the Union government would extend all possible support to the Telanagana government in developing the state, he said he would strive to get special funds from the Union government for power projects and Mission Kakatiya to achieve Golden Telangana.
He also said that he would work in coordination with the state government to develop Vemulawada temple town as a Heritage City.
'If the state government sends proposals on making Vemulawada a Heritage City, I will try to secure more funds from the Union ministry of culture and tourism,' he added.
Meanwhile, another BJP leader charged the TRS with playing a 'mind game' by spreading rumours that the TRS would be joining the Union Cabinet to derive advantage in the elections to the legislative Council.
BJP state general secretary Ch Sambamurthy termed such talk as TRS' gimmicks ahead of the elections to Council from the Graduates Constituency.
