No free entry for media at Secretariat HYDERABAD: Taking the cue from the AAP government in Delhi, the State government too might impose curbs on the entry of journalists into the Secretariat. According to sources, the issue came up for discussion between Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and senior officials following concerns that unverified information was going into the public domain.
It is learnt that the CM and the officials were of the view that 'unrestricted access' the media has in the Secretariat was leading to free flow of unverified information. KCR is understood to have remarked whether the media's presence was required in the Secretariat.
The officials reportedly complained that movement of scribes was resulting in 'dislocation of work' with some even proposing a blanket ban. 'There might not be a total ban but there might be some curbs. However, No decision has been taken,' the sources said.
