9 IPS officer trainees tested positive for H1N1 Hyderabad, Feb 21 (INN): A total of 9 IPS Officer Trainees tested positive for H1N1 in city-based SVP National Police Academy.
They were all admitted to different hospitals in the city. Three of them have already been discharged. Throat swabs were taken from all trainees who complained of cough/cold/fever. A total of 917 vaccines were already administered in the campus to the trainees, workers, faculty and families. As many as 2764 dosages of homeopathic medicine were also administered.
Dr. G. Srinivas Rao, Special Officer, Epidemic and Dr. Lalitha, District Surveillance Officer, Ranga Reddy district along with medical team of four doctors camped at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad on Saturday.
They have conducted a sensitization programme on H1N1 to IPS Officer Trainees, participants of other courses, faculty and staff of the SVP National Police Academy.
Medical screening of all trainees was done and symptomatics were provided prophylactic treatment. All preventive measures like sanitization, personal hygiene and quarantine are being taken.
Health and Family Welfare Commissioner Dr. Jyoti Buddha Prakash is monitoring the situation and providing necessary support from the State Government.
