TS Govt to issue Health Cards to journalists soon Hyderabad, Feb 21 (INN): The Telangana Government has assured that Health Cards would be issued soon to all the working journalists.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has constituted a nine-member committee to formulate modalities for issuing Accreditation and Health Cards. There were no discussions on restricting journalists' entry in to the Secretariat premises.
In a four hour long discussions held in Press Academy on Saturday, the Chief Minister had focused on various issues related to the welfare of journalists.
Apart from provision of Accreditations and Health Cards, the meeting stressed about house sites for journalists and Journalists Bhavan. KCR has assured the journalists to meet once again to have an elaborated discussion on house sites and Journalists Bhavan.
The Chief Minister also revealed his intention to raise Journalists Welfare fund from Rs 10 crore to Rs 100 Crore. He stated that there would be Rs 10 more crores allocation for Journalists Welfare Fund in coming budget session. An exercise is going on in this regard, he said.
Telangana Press Academy Chairman Allam Narayana and other Journalists who participated in meeting expressed their happiness towards the decision and extended their special thanks to the Chief Minister. Speaking to the media, Allam Narayana said that the Chief Minister has assured during the meeting to credit Rs 10 crore in the Press Academy's account by Monday.
A separate Committee has also been constituted to spend this amount for the welfare activity. He also told that the Committee would submit its report within a week and the process for issuing Accreditations and Health Cards has begun. They would try to finish the task before the budget session of Assembly.
