AP got debts, TS assets, says Ashok Gajapathi ELURU: Steps will be taken to get adequate funds sanctioned for the truncated state of Andhra Pradesh by the union government, Union minister for civil aviation P Ashok Gajapathi Raju has said.
Speaking to reporters here, he said all MPs of the state should mount pressure on the Union government in this regard. Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu was also working seriously to get funds from the Union government.
UPA government had divided the state for political mileage though Congress leaders in the state had opposed the proposal. 'Andhra Pradesh got debts and Telangana got assets. It is the duty of the Union government to extend financial assistance to Andhra Pradesh,' Ashok Gajapathi Raju averred.
AICC president Sonia Gandhi had never helped Andhra Pradesh but now she was demanding that the BJP government extend financial assistance to the state. It was better for the AICC president to write letters to Congress-ruled states, instead of the BJP government.
The chief minister was striving for the welfare of people in the state. During the Hudhud cyclone, CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu rushed to Visakhapatnam within hours of occurrence of the cyclone and supervised rescue operations. Gajapathi Raju also attended the engagement function of MP Maganti Venkateswara Rao's daughter Ravali.
