Squabbles in Lok Satta come to the fore HYDERABAD: The internal squabbles in the Loksatta came to the fore with its national president Surendra Srivastava announcing Pattabhiramaiah and Bheesetti Babji as interim president and general secretary of AP unit respectively.
After expelled senior leaders Katari Srinivasa Rao and DVVN Varma going public expressing their displeasure with measures taken by Srivastava as the national president, party chairman Jayaprakash Narayan, Srivastava and others organised a press conference, to announce the change in the party-set up.
'The party is bigger than individuals and nation is bigger than the party. No one is indispensable. Loksatta will march ahead with momentum as the platform for young people,' Jayaprakash Narayan said. Earlier Srivastava suspended Katari Srinivasa Rao and Varma from the party citing indiscipline.
Announcing that Srivastava was not elected democratically to be the president of the party, both Rao and Varma argued that he did not have any right to initiate any disciplinary action. The trouble only grew with the party virtually breaking into factions. The intervention of even chairman could not dissipate the crisis in the party.
