Irrigation minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said tenders for the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation scheme will be finalised in one week. He said the opposition parties were creating problems as the government was trying to send 8,500 cusecs of water through the Polavaram Right Canal and Prakasam Barrage to drought-hit districts.
He said many unauthorised irrigation projects had come up in Karanataka and Maharashtra due to the ineffiency of the state government. Minister for Agriculture Prattipati Pulla Rao appealed to the teachers to elect the candidates selected by the TDP in the MLC elections.
