National Safety Week at Sri City Sri City, Feb 24 (INN): The 44th National Safety Week Celebration started on Tuesday morning at Sri City.
The safety campaign was inaugurated by N. Sekhar, Vice President, Sri City in the presence of Altaf Shaik, GM, Security & Vigilance, Prasad, Manager, Safety and Kranthi Kumar, Asst. Manager, Safety. Prasad gave a talk on safety at work place to a group of workers. As part of the week-long celebrations, several awareness programmes and competitions will be held.
Underscoring the importance of safety in work area, Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director, Sri City in a message stated,"National safety week is observed in Sri City to remind people how important 'safety' is. As most accidents take place due to negligence of 'safety', utmost importance should be given to 'safety' at all levels. It is essential to strictly adhere to usage of safety appliances by one and all."
Kranti Kumar informed that the week-long schedule includes various programmes like awareness sessions on first aid, road safety campaign, construction safety measures, competitions in painting, elocution and slogans etc., all on safety themes. Besides the employees, students and general public of the neighboring villages will take part in some of these programmes.
On 4th March, which is observed as National Safety Day, a concluding function will be held in which officials of Sri City and other industrial units will take the safety pledge for strengthening the safety and strict implementation of proactive safety measures to avert accidents. Experts in the field of industrial safety will address the gathering.
