Ten TDP MLAs suspended for budget session Hyderabad, March 9 (INN): As many as 10 TDP MLAs, including TDLP leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao, have been suspended for the entire budget session of the Telangana Legislative Assembly.
The TDP MLAs were suspended following pandemonium and uproar which they created in the House on Monday. As soon as the House met today, the TDP members rushed to the podium while shouting slogans against the government accusing it of doing injustice to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. They also raised the issue of alleged attack by TRS MLAs on some TDP legislators during the joint address of Governor's ESL Narasimhan to the Telangana Legislature on March 7. They also shouted slogans demanding dismissal of Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, who had defected from the TDP to the TRS.
They continuously disrupted the speech of Legislative Affairs Minister T Harish Rao and Errabelli did not speak after Speaker S Madhusudan Chary asked him to express his views on mike. The continuous uproar led to the brief adjournment of the House for 10 minutes. The situation remained the same when the House reassembled.
Accusing the TDP MLAs of disrespecting the National Anthem and intentionally disrupting the proceedings of the House to divert attention, Harish Rao moved a resolution to suspend all TDP MLAs, except R Krishnaiah and Manchireddy Kishan Reddy, for the entire session. The MLAs who were suspended include Errabelli Dayakar Rao, G Saianna, A Revanth Reddy, Vivekanand, Maganti Gopianth, Rajendra Reddy, Madhavaram Krishna Rao, M Prakash Goud, Sandra Venkata Veeraiah and Gandhi were suspended through a resolution passed by voice vote.
Harish Rao said that the government provided the TDP MLAs an opportunity to apologise for disrespecting the National Anthem. However, the TDP members did not utilise the opportunity and instead, resorted to disruption of the proceedings.
The suspended TDP MLAs were later evicted from the House by about 50 marshals.
