Inter-state cheaters' gang busted, two held


 
Hyderabad, Nov 4 (INN): The North Zone team of Commissioner's Task Force on Friday arrested two persons who were allegedly involved in preparation of counterfeit currency.

The accused ' Piyush Singh and Sardar Alam Ansari are residents of Mumbai. According to police, Piyush works for Sadiq alias Mamu of Mumbai who maintains gangs for cheating the people on the pretext of providing fake currency.

The main accused Sadiq has one relative Sajju, who stays in Hyderabad. Explaining the modus operandi, the police said that on the instructions of Sadiq Sajju along with his associates Sammi and Shakeel locates the innocent persons and lures them with a pretext of giving fake currency at 1:2 ratio which resembles as original one and cannot be identified as fake.

They take one Rs. 1000 note from the victim and applies black colour chemical to one blank white paper and keep black note along with the original in a brown colour cover. They tell to the victim that, it will take 15 minutes to change into another Rs. 1000 note.

They keep the victim busy in conversation. Meanwhile they take out the black colour paper out and keep one original Rs. 1000 note. After some time they hand over the Rs. 1000 given by the victim and the other Rs. 1000 note purported to have been fake note.

Victim goes out and changes the note. As that is an original note the victim will not face any problem. Then the victim with an intension to make more money, approaches them with huge cash for fake currency at 1:2 ratio.

When the victim gives huge amounts, they applies black colour chemical to a while paper bundle which were already cut into the size of Rs. 1000 note. They wrap the bundle with a news paper and gives to the victim with instructions to open after 5 to 6 hours. Meanwhile they manage to escape.

So far, the accused have cheated two persons to the tune of Rs. 6 lakh and Rs 1.4 lakh. According to police, strict surveillance was kept on organized crimes, and in this process a trap was laid to arrest this inter-state gang involved in cheating of innocent persons.

Police have also seized two cell phones and other incriminating material from their possession. They were handed over to the Moghalpura Police Station for taking further action.
