He asked them to make '100 per cent personal inspections' and at times random check duly organizing the teams with the lower staff. He asked them to have good coordination with Bill Collectors, Tax Inspectors, Asst. Municipal Commissioners and Valuation Officers to improve the GHMC tax collections.
Krishna Babu has asked all the Deputy Commissioners to be vigilant while serving special notices duly inspecting the premises whether the notices are served as per the provisions of the Act.
He directed the Zonal Commissioners to fix the target basing on how many buildings have to be assessed actually in their jurisdiction duly by taking the services of the Town Planning Wing, Engineering Wing and Tax Wing and to complete the process in a stipulated time within 15 days.
The GHMC commissioner further stated that senior officers at the Deputy Commissioner level will not be spared if any negligence found on their part while making property tax assessments.
They should see that the special notices be issued to the property tax owners with prior verification to avoid criticism from the elected representatives and the property tax owners.
