Two Nigerians held for credit card cloning Hyderabad, Nov 6 (INN): The North Zone team of Commissioner's Task Force on Sunday busted an interstate credit card fraud racket and arrested two Nigerian nationals from SD Road, Secunderabad, who were illegally staying in India.
According to police, the accused - Kasope Sangodipe Adeyemo and Abolaji Mohammed were running an international credit card racket in major cities in India including Hyderabad and purchased Rs 7 lakhs worth goods from different shops in Hyderabad by using 17 fake credit cards of ICICI and AXIS banks.
Police seized credit card, debit cards, eight cell phones and Rs 24,000 cash from their possession. Two more accused ' Suleman and Vincent Ezurika are absconding.
Police say that the accused persons used to purchase the fake credit cards through their known friends from Nigeria and other friend in India and they use the same for buying electronic goods, clothes, shoes, etc and export the same to their country or otherwise they sold the same through online. On verification, it was found that all the cards belonged to American citizens.
They made several purchases worth lakhs of rupees from different shopping centres in Hyderabad using fake credit cards. Efforts are being made to trace out the other main absconding accused, police said.
The arrested accused persons and seized material were handed over to Mahankali Police Station for necessary legal action.
