Six Hindu Vahini activists held for communal attacks Hyderabad, Nov 13 (INN): The City Police on Sunday arrested six people who were allegedly responsible for the attacks at different places in the city in which eight people were injured.
The arrested accused ' S Sadanand, Shakti Vinod, K Unni Krishna, Prabha Bhargav, Surya Vamshi Santosh and Panduga Kalyan are aged between 21-27 years and most of them are students.
Police also seized three motor cycles, three rods, one knife and six cell phones used in attacks from their possession.
According to police, the accused are followers of 'Hindu Vahini' organization and have attacked people of other community on the pretext that they slaughtered the cows during Bakrid Festival.
On November 8, they gathered at Baghlingampally Park along with their weapons and hatch the plan to attack people of other community.
On the same day, they all gathered along with deadly weapons like rods and knife at night at about 10 pm at Tilaknagar X Roads, from where they started towards Nimboliadda and committed following offences.
On the same night, they attacked youth at different places injuring eight people. The attacks were carried out at Harraspenta in Nimboli Adda, Narayanguda, Baghlingampally, Balamrai and Bowenpally.
Following the above attacks, the police got alerted and immediately swung in to action for identifying the persons responsible for them.
Considering the seriousness and sensitivity of the issue, the Task Force team was asked to assist in the investigation and arrest the accused.
Having taken up the task, the Task Force Teams investigated into all probable angles and identified the people who were allegedly involved in the above offences, City Police Commissioner AK Khan said.
