Police recover Rs 11 lakh stolen cash Hyderabad, Nov 14 (INN): The Afzalgunj police has recovered stolen cash of Rs 11 lakh by arresting an absconding accused along with his associate.
According to police, the accused ' Bal Kishan Maali, who went absconding after stealing Rs 54 lakh cash belonging to Nava Durga Bullion Corporation of Ravinder Agarwal on October 5 near Sultan Bazar, has been arrested.
He was an NDBC's employee and sped away with the cash on his scooter while it was being taken to be deposited in a bank. Maali's friend Naresh Sankla was arrested by the police on October 12 and police also recovered stolen Rs 40 lakh from his possession.
On a tip off, the Afzalgunj police on Sunday arrested Maali and his associate P Rakesh Kumar at Secunderabad Railway Station and recovered Rs 11 lakh cash from their possession.
Police say that after committing the theft of Rs 54 lakh, Maali kept Rs 40 lakh at his friend Naresh Sankla's house and sped away with the remaining amount along with his associate Rakesh Kumar.
They went to the places of pilgrimage at Badrinath, Amarnath, Gangothri, Yamunothri (Chardham), Haridwar, Shiridi, Ajmer and other places and spent Rs 3 lakh lavishly.
East Zone DCP Y Gangadhar appreciated the work done by Additional Inspector K Sudarshan, Inspector K Chandrasekhar Reddy and sub-inspector T Narsing Rao and other team members.
He lauded them for recovering Rs 51 lakh out of Rs 54 lakh stolen amount within a period of 40 days.
