Police solve murder mystery Hyderabad, Nov 27 (INN): The City Police on Sunday unravelled the mystery behind the murder of an auto-driver whose dead body was found near RRC Grounds in the Tukkaramgate police station limits on October 4.
Addressing a press conference, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North Zone) Ch Srikanth said that the auto-driver, Waseem Khan, a resident of Falaknuma, was murdered by the same gang which was involved in carrying out attacks on a particular community.
According to the details disclosed by the police, Waseem used to accompany an orchestra dancer of Ramnagar to orchestra programs in which she used to dance.
He fell in love with her and even proposed to marry her. However, the dancer refused the proposal as she was already married and had two kids. About three months ago the dancer's husband went to Rajasthan and Waseem was trying to harass her in his absence.
The dancer informed her friends about this issue and they in turn informed one Bhargav alias Balu about this. Bhargav along with his associates Sadanand, Unni Krishna, Shakti Vinod and Panduga Kalyan hatched a plan and killed Waseem using centering sticks.
The DCP said the mystery was unravelled when six accused - Sadanand, Vinod, Krishna, Bhargav, Kalyan and Surya Vamshi Santosh, who were earlier arrested in connection with communal attacks on the night of October 8 were taken into police custody by the Special Investigation Team. During interrogation they confessed of having committed the murder of Waseem Khan.
The police have recovered the weapons of offence at their instance and they were being remanded to judicial custody in the murder case.
