Surprise checks to stop drunken driving: Hyd Police Hyderabad, Nov 29 (INN): The City Police on Tuesday announced that its enforcement against drunken driving will take on the element of surprise from now on, in terms of location and timings.
The Hyderabad Traffic Police has claimed that its special drives have been successful, so far. During the special drives taken up on November 25 and 27 at various places in the twin cities from 10 pm to 1 am, the police arrested a total of 185 drunken drivers.
They include 58 drivers of were 4-wheelers, 120 of 2-wheelers and seven were of auto-rickshaws. On Nov 28, they were produced before the IVth Metropolitan Magistrate Court at Nampally and the Magistrate imposed fine up to Rs.2500 and their driving licenses have been suspended for 3 months.
