Woman kills self due to dowry harassment
Hyderabad, Nov 29 (INN): A 23-year-old woman, Sabitha, committed suicide by setting herself ablaze allegedly due to harassment by her husband for more dowry.
Sabitha took the extreme step on Tuesday morning at her residence in Permanguda. She poured kerosene on her body and set herself on fire. She died on the spot.
According to Ibrahimpatnam police, Sabitha was married to Krishna, a JCB operator, about five years ago. The couple also had one child.
However, Sabitha was allegedly being harassed by her Krishna for more dowry and the same reason is believed to have led her to commit suicide. Ibrahimpatnam police are investigation the case.
