Police recover Rs 12 lakh worth stolen property, one held Hyderabad, Dec 8 (INN): The City Police have apprehended an alleged thief who was involved in at least nine cases of thefts in the limits of different police stations.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, ACP Asifnagar T Nagaraju Kumar said that the sleuths of Tappachabutra and Humayun Nagar police stations arrested 22-year-old Pimple Amaresh on Wednesday near Tallagadda Bus Stop while he was in possession of a stolen Maruthi car.
During interrogation, Amaresh confessed to have committed and being involved in nine cases of theft pertaining to Tappachabutra, Kulsumpura, Humayun Nagar, Afzalgunj and Zaheerabad police station limits.
At Amaresh's instance, police recovered one Maruthi car, one motor cycle, one Accer laptop, one television set and gold ornaments weighing about 30 tolas, about 1 kg silver and a wrist watch which were stolen from different places. The value of recovered property is about Rs 12 lakh.
Nagaraju Kumar said that Amaresh, a resident of Jiaguda, was an ex-labour contractor and used to commit the offences to spend a lavish life. He praised the police teams for solving the cases and recovering the stolen property.
