Man attempts suicide in front of police station
Hyderabad, Dec 10 (INN): A 40-year-old man attempted suicide by setting himself ablaze in front of Langar Houz police station here on Saturday.
The man, who sustained about 80 per cent burns, was later identified as Pavan, a native of Uttar Pradesh. He took the extreme step in an inebriated condition. Police say that Pavan was mentally unsound and used to live on streets, mostly around Langar Houz flyover.
Pavan, a native of Uttar Pradesh, had allegedly set his father ablaze a few years ago. Since then, he was abandoned by his mother and he used to live on streets.
Pavan has been shifted to the Osmania General Hospital for treatment where his condition is said to be critical.
