Police impose restrictions for new year's eve Hyderabad, Dec 30 (INN): The City Police has imposed certain restrictions on the movement of traffic on the new year's eve.
According to City Police Commissioner AK Khan, in order to facilitate proper control and regulation of traffic in view of the New Year celebrations on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, several restrictions have been imposed for the vehicular traffic around the Hussain Sagar Lake.
Vehicular traffic will not be allowed on the NTR Marg, Necklace Road and Upper Tankbund from 10 pm to 2 am on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. Therefore, the vehicular traffic coming towards these routes will be diverted to alternate routes.
The Mint compound lane adjacent to Secretariat will be closed for general vehicular traffic. Further, all fly-overs will be closed for Traffic.
The Traffic police will undertake extensive checks to curb drunken driving with breath analysers, rash and negligent driving, over speeding and triple riding on two-wheelers and other traffic violations in the interest of public order and safety.
The Police Commissioner has requested the people to with the police personnel on duty.
