Inter-student held for kidnapping Hyderabad, Jan 31 (INN): The Central Zone team of Commissioner's Task Force rescued a 13-year-old boy and arrested an inter-second year student on the charges of kidnapping.
According to police, the accused Yaggadi Raghavendra, a native of Prakasam district, boarded a Hyderabad-bound train at Nandyal on January 27 and sat beside a 13-year-old boy Ezra.
The boy has left the house without informing his parents. He collected all his details by making friendship with him.
The next day Raghavendra called boy's uncle and demanded ransom of Rs 75,000 for his release. He kept the boy in a lodge located at Shadnagar.
The boy's family approached the police which laid the trap and rescued Mast Ezra and arrested Raghavendra.
During interrogation, Raghavendra confessed of having committed another kidnapping for ransom. On January 23, He picked a boy Venkata Kasaiah while he was attending nature call in front of his hostel in Markapur.
He told the boy that his teacher was calling him and took the boy to Cumbum. He kept the boy in a lodge and called up his father demanding ransom.
However, the boy escaped from the lodge foiling his plan. A separate case of kidnapping has already registered at Markapur police station.
