Police bans pillion riding in Hyderabad Hyderabad, April 9 (INN): In view of recent communal violence in some areas of the Old City, the Hyderabad City Police has imposed certain regulations on the movement of persons on two wheelers during night times.
In an order, City Police Commissioner AK Khan has prohibited pillion riding on two wheelers except when the pillion rider is a woman or a child below the age of 14 years in the limits of Hyderabad City.
The order will remain in force between 11 pm and 6 am on the intervening nights of Monday-Tuesday to until further orders.
People requiring exemption from the above order may obtain specific permission from the SHOs of the Police Station having jurisdiction in writing by producing copies of Driving License and Registration Certificate book, the commissioner said while adding that any person violating the above orders would be liable for prosecution under the law.
