Police recover Rs 60 lakh property from burglar Hyderabad, May 2 (INN): The City Police has recovered stolen gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 60 lakh from the possession of an alleged burglar who was arrested last month.
According to police, the accused, Mohd Ibrahim Siddiqui alias Ramesh, committed several house burglaries in the limits of Hyderabad and Cyberabad areas. Since 2005 he committed a total of 30 house burglaries in the limits of Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar, Panjagutta and Banjara Hills.
He used to dispose the gold ornaments in Maharastra and Karnataka States. Finger prints of the accused have been traced in 16 cases of Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar and Panjagutta Police Stations.
Ibrahim was arrested on April 26 and later taken into police custody from April 28 to May 2.
Based on his confession, the police recovered about two kilograms of gold and one Kg silver ornaments all worth Rs 60 lakh from gold jewellery shops situated in Maharashtra and Karnataka.
The case was investigated by CCS Inspector M Ravinder Reddy and sub-inspector Amjad.
